The French government now anticipates the first of its EPR2 nuclear reactors will be operational by 2038 instead of 2035. The construction will be financed through a state-backed loan covering at least half of the costs, with a guaranteed electricity price of €100/MWh. The government plans to build six reactors at existing sites, starting with Penly.
